Making professionalism count in the Thames Valley

Our mission is to achieve ever greater recognition of the contribution that professional institues make to the regions thriving economy. TVPIP is a collective organisation of branches of Professional Institutes, primarily focused upon the Thames Valley but is not limited thereto. TVPIP functions as a group whose members are the professional bodies that are accepted to be part of its organisation and whose events and activities are open to the individual members of those professional bodies.

TVPIP in action

• Supports Continuing Professional Development. Professional education and training via businesses, schools, colleges, universities and training centres.
• Signposting organisations, activities and events that are relevant to TVPIP members.
• Collaboratiion between institutes through joint events and projects.
• Communicates between institutes to foster mutual understanding of objectives and ambitions.
• Publicising Events organised by TVPIP or its members jointly or independently. Topics support Continuous Professional Development and will be of interest for networking. information and CPD.
• Networking Events Providing opportunities for individuals and participating institutes.
• Raises the profile of professions and practitioners by encouraging qualification, institute membership and engagement in the local community.
• Single point of contact for organisations seeking dialogue with professional bodies on a local/regional basis.
• Working with others: examples Oxford Brookes University projects on CPD - electronic portfolios for CV/Career recording; TVEP - TVPIP participated in initial meeting that lead to the Thames Valley Innovation Network; DTI - consultation on the Professional Partnerships Initiative
